Booking & Logistics
What areas of Lexington do you serve?
+

We serve all of Lexington and Fayette County, including popular areas like Hamburg, Chevy Chase, Beaumont, Tates Creek, Nicholasville Road corridor, and surrounding neighborhoods. Call us if you're unsure whether we cover your area.

How far in advance do I need to book?
+

We typically have appointments available within 3–5 business days. Saturday slots and early morning/late afternoon weekday appointments fill fastest, so if timing matters we recommend booking a week or more ahead. For routine recurring appointments, your slot is always reserved.

What's your cancellation policy?
+

We ask for at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice may incur a $25 cancellation fee. We understand emergencies happen — just give us a call and we'll work with you.

Do I need to be home during the appointment?
+

We work in your driveway, so you don't need to be present — but someone does need to hand over and receive your dog. Many clients step outside briefly at the start and end while spending the rest of the time indoors. You can also watch from a window if you'd like!

How do I pay?
+

We accept cash, card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), Venmo, and Zelle. Payment is collected at the end of the appointment once you've seen the results. We'll text you a digital receipt.

The Grooming Process
How long does a grooming appointment take?
+

A full groom typically takes 60–120 minutes depending on your dog's size, coat condition, and the service. Small dogs may be done in 45–60 minutes; large breeds with thick coats can take up to 2 hours. We'll give you a time estimate when you book.

Do you use cage dryers?
+

Never. Cage drying — where a dog is placed in an enclosed kennel with a blower — is a practice we don't use under any circumstances. We hand-dry or use a low-heat stand dryer with your dog comfortable on the grooming table. Cage drying has caused dog deaths and significant distress — we won't do it.

What shampoos do you use? What if my dog has sensitive skin?
+

We use professional-grade grooming shampoos suited to coat type — moisturizing, de-shedding, whitening, or hypoallergenic depending on your dog's needs. If your dog has a known skin condition, allergies, or you prefer a specific product, just let us know when booking and we'll accommodate.

Can I request a specific haircut style?
+

Absolutely. At the start of each appointment, we'll talk through the style you want — breed-standard, puppy cut, teddy bear cut, custom trim, or specific length requests. Photos are very helpful! We'd rather take a few minutes to understand exactly what you want than get it wrong.

Dogs, Breeds & Special Needs
My dog is anxious at the groomer. Will mobile grooming help?
+

Mobile grooming is one of the most effective solutions for grooming-anxious dogs. The one-on-one environment, familiar surroundings, and absence of other stressed dogs dramatically reduce anxiety. Most clients with anxious dogs report a significant improvement after switching to mobile. We'll also adapt our pace to your dog's comfort level.

Do you groom all breeds?
+

Yes — we welcome all breeds, sizes, and coat types. From tiny Chihuahuas to large Bernese Mountain Dogs, from short-coated Labs to heavily coated Poodle mixes. If you have an uncommon breed or an especially high-maintenance coat, just let us know ahead of time so we can plan the appointment accordingly.

My dog is elderly and has health conditions. Can you still groom them?
+

Yes, and senior dogs often do especially well with mobile grooming. We modify our process for older dogs — more frequent breaks, gentle handling, temperature awareness, and a slower pace overall. Please let us know about any health conditions when booking so we can prepare appropriately. If your vet has any specific recommendations, we're happy to follow them.

My dog has matted fur. Can you help?
+

We offer dematting services for mild to moderate matting. We use patience, conditioning treatments, and specialized tools to work through mats without unnecessary pain. Severe matting (close to the skin, affecting large areas) may require shaving. We'll be honest about what's possible and humane, and we'll always get your approval before proceeding.

Practical Questions
Do I need to provide water or electricity?
+

No — our van is fully self-contained with its own water tank, water heater, electricity (via generator), and all grooming equipment. You don't need to provide anything. We'll park in your driveway and the whole operation runs from the van.

What if I'm not happy with the groom?
+

We stand behind our work. If you're not satisfied with any aspect of the groom, tell us right away and we'll address it before leaving. If an issue comes up later, call us within 24 hours and we'll make it right — at no charge. Your satisfaction (and your dog's happiness) is our priority.

Can you groom multiple dogs in one visit?
+

Yes! If you have more than one dog, we can groom them back-to-back in the same visit — saving you multiple appointment days and multiple drop-offs. Pricing applies per dog. Let us know when booking how many dogs you have so we can schedule the right amount of time.

Should I feed my dog before the appointment?
+

We recommend not feeding a large meal within 1–2 hours of the appointment. A light meal or treating as normal is fine. A very full stomach can cause discomfort during grooming, particularly for dogs who get anxious. Water is always fine.
